Recently Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa held it's Employee of the 1st Quarter celebration at the French Steakhouse. Besides being located on Aruba’s widest beach our resort is all about the people that work for it day in and day out. Nominees were Ligia of the Kitchen Team renowned for her home-made apfel struedel served at the French Steakhouse and the tiramisu bestseller at our Giorgio’s – Ristorante Italiano. Michel and Regina were nominated by their peers for ensuring wonderful maintained gardens, beach and public areas. Juanito, member of our maintenance crew, is always at hand to fix it and to help out wherever needed. Martha is the star in the evening where she takes care of our restaurant patrons at Giorgio’s – Ristorante Italiano.
Overall winner of the 1st quarter is Chef Daal who was nominated by the resort’s executive chef George Hoek for his exemplary work, great attitude, drive to succeed and for making the recently renewed menu at the French Steakhouse restaurant a big success.

One of the most successful chefs on the island is back at home.  After gaining experience in top names in the hospitality such as Hyatt & Sheraton (locally and abroad) Executive Chef George Hoek returns to the Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa .In the few months that he is at Manchebo, he has renewed the menus at the Pega Pega Café & Beach Bar, making it a healthier one.

His next project was the creation of a new Italian restaurant, which restaurant got his name: Giorgio’s.

St. Michael’s School Graduates enjoy a day at Manchebo

June 27, 2007 – Eagle Beach – Graduates of St. Michael School of Brasil, Aruba enjoyed a great “working” experience at Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa. The 17 students of teacher Gordon Keggie in the age range of 12-14 years received a grand tour of the resort and had an opportunity to work hands on for a couple of hours with Manchebo’s staff in the restaurant, housekeeping, maintenance, beach, garden and front desk departments. Teacher Gordon enjoyed the great enthusiasm of his students while working with the Manchebo team during the morning and had many requests from his students to soon return for more experiences. “It was a real pleasure for us to host this young group of students. With tourism as the pillar of Aruba’s economy we certainly hope to have inspired some youngsters to choose for a career in tourism in the coming years” says Edgar Roelofs, director of operations. Of course the students enjoyed the resort’s hospitality as well with a nice lunch at the cafeteria.
