Sun Tan tips

The table below is to give you an idea or warn you of how much time you can spend in the Aruban sun before getting a sunburn.
the numbers 0 to 10+ shows you the level of uv exposure.
The closest you are to the equator, the highest the number.
Aruba is located only 12,5 degrees north of the equator, so the sun will shine and penetrate the atmosphere with a maximum amount of rays.

Example: with a UV ray of 7.4, and no sun protection you will get sun burn in 15 minutes. Having a SPF 2, you will get a sunburn in 30 minutes.

The Name Papiamento:
The name "Papiamento" comes from
the word papia which means 'to speak'

Papia is the Papiamento verb for 'to speak' and -mento is the suffix that forms a noun, meaning approximately 'the way of doing something'. Papiamento translated would then be something like 'the way of speaking'.

Lesson 1
"Bon Bini" - Welcome
" Bon Dia" - Good Morning
" Bon Tardi" - Good Afternoon
" Bon Nochi" - Good Evening
" Danki"- Thank you!

Origins of Papiamento:
The common view on the origin of Papiamento is that it is an Afro-Portuguese Creole (the Proto-Afro-Portuguese Creole theory). However, due to the considerable Spanish influence on Papiamento, a group of authors considers Papiamento a Spanish-based Creole (the Spanish hypothesis
